I am Michael Mongeau, a History (Secondary Education) student at ASU's Mary Lou Fulton's Teacher's college. My primary historical focus is comparative genocide, particularly cultural genocide. The two genocides I have focused on in my studies are the Genocide of European Jews in the Holocaust and the Genocide of American Indians throughout American History.
My personal philosophy regarding history education is that, we must teach the bad of history, in order for people to see the mistakes of the past, and prevent them from repeating. However, I also believe that we should teach the good of history, to give people hope that things will change and problems can be solved. |
About UsIt has always been a passion of mine to share educational research and the best methodologies for teaching the holocaust, in order to assist teachers in best presenting this to students. When researching methodologies for teaching the holocaust for an earlier project, I was astounded by the variety of methods used by teachers for teaching this horrific event. From then on, I wanted to help teachers find the best methodologies to teach the Holocaust most efficiently. I created this website to allow it to be a resource for people to use to analyze methodologies and get resources such as useful books, movies and websites.
